Will you be able to succeed at you weight loss goals this year? Can you lose
the weight and become more thin? The answer is Yes. First, though, you need to think right and act right. Here are the new ways to think and act for you to stick with your weight loss plan and succeed at weight loss.
Look At The Past
There are certain behaviors in the past that caused the weight to be gained. Look at these behaviors to avoid the patterns that caused you to become overweight. Recognize these actions and habits and then decide what needs to be changed, so that you can get to where you want to be in the future.
Take Responsibility
After you know the habits and patterns that caused the weight to be gained, take responsibility for it. Know that you are the only one that makes choices that can harm or help you. Instead of blaming, which keeps someone from being able to take action to solve a problem (if its not your fault, there’s no need to fix it), take responsibility, so that you can make necessary changes.
Set Goals
Of course if you want to lose weight, you already have a goal. But it’s not so easy to reach a goal to “lose 30 pounds”, for example. Instead, break goals into smaller reachable goals. These goals will be measurable steps that can be celebrated every time they are reached. Even if the celebration is a written down note in a diet journal that reads, “Goal 3 accomplished”. Make sure all the goals are written down.
Take Action
After goals are written down, create a plan of action. This will allow you to think ahead and know what needs to be done to accomplish the goals. This way you will have a well thought-out plan: goals with action plans. With this type of plan, you can succeed at a bunch of small things in order to succeed at the one big thing.
No More Excuses
Excuses are what will get you to skip steps in an action plan and miss goals. Get rid of any excuse that you may end up using. If you have an excuse for something, like going to a fast food restaurant, then find counterarguments (counter excuses) to eliminate the excuse. I’m sure if the excuse is time, hunger, or convenience, there are counter-excuses that can be made for why those excuses are not valid. There are no excuses.
Believe
Not only believe, but internally know that you can succeed and lose weight. Visualize the new you. What will you be doing? How will you feel? Be detailed in your vision. Believe that you can get there. There has to be hope.
Don’t Delay
Get started with your goals. Don’t let more excuses stop you from becoming healthier, and from feeling better about yourself. Losing weight is not easy, and it will take time. Therefore, have the will power and perseverance to stay on course.

To lose one pound of fat, you must burn about 3500 calories over and above what you already burn doing daily activities. That sounds like a lot of calories and you certainly wouldn’t want to try to burn 3500 calories in one day. However, by taking it step-by-step, you can determine just what you need to do each day to burn or cut out those extra calories.
It is not easy and possible to lose weight over night you need to set set goals and target of how you want to achieve this. Once you set your goal, you also need determination to achieve this goal, because it not easy to achieve the goal you set to lose 30 pounds with 3 months.
This is a great article. It is very true the only way to lose weight is to think and act differently. You really do need to change your lifestyle in order to see results. Working out is very important however more needs to be done. This article sets up great guidelines to follow.
They say to lose weight you need plenty of Will Power!
Well I have plenty of power just fall short with the will!
I agree that the number one thing involved in successful weight loss has little to do with what diet or workout plan you select and almost everything to do with reprogramming your mind to think differently. Once this is done, one can achieve fat loss on nearly any (decent) program. Most people lose the battle before they even begin, simply because of the years and years of feeding their subconscious mind negative, limiting thoughts.
It’s tough to overcome, but we need to “train” the mind everyday to think better, lending different actions and different (better) results.
Good stuff…

With your points so precisely staged you make it sound such an easy task for losing those extra pounds. But there is in no doubt that until and unless your mind is set to lose weight you will be unable to do so or even succeed. Its all the play of the mind and how one reaches the end of line successfully. There are many bumpy rides and turns to this journey and no wonder why so many people have come up with their own versions of losing weight. But until and unless the above components aren’t working in conjunction to each other its unlikely that you will succeed.
I agree. I lost a lot of weight, hence my passion for this topic. I wasn’t until I had my own “rock bottom” that I was able to think and act different to lose weight.
Good article champ! Especially I liked ur view of how to analyze ourpast habit that were responsible for our weight gain. I must drop the habit of eating choclates in order to undergo weightloss
Great post, thanks a lot for info
People don’t set their own goal – ideal weight. That’s why they can’t lose so many lbs as people, who set their ideal weight. People, who have set their goals, they are motivated.
People also have to believe in them, because if they will not believe in themselves, they won’t reach goals!
Great post, thanks a lot for info
I completely agree about learning your bad habits that got you over weight in the first place and then take responsibility to fix it.
Just like now we see people blaming fast food restaurants for making their kids fat. But no one ever talks about the parents are the ones that are responsible for taking them to eat that food.
Yes, definitely! We are the only responsible about your situations. No one to blame but our own selves. We don’t want regrets at all. So, we need to be strict to ourselves,We should believe in what we can do. Anything is possible for as long as there’s a will.
As with most things the mindset is very essential. The only thing I would want to add is the need to associate with people who have a smililar and what you will find is you can feed off each others drive and energy.
The most important thing about losing weight is not only your willpower, but also information about what you should eat. Everyone should eat; why not eat properly?
I mean, nobody can be on a diet forever (at least I don’t happen to know anyone). So, the only way is to:
1. relax and except yourself the way you are — the most important step in the whole process;
2. face the fact that you will have some health problems if you are overweight
3. take some action — no diet is for everybody; you have to find your own way.
However, here you can find something that may help you — http://www.lose-weight-mediterranean-diet.com/free-diet-meal-plans.html
Good luck and don’t give up.
