If you want to shed pounds quickly without suffering any yo-yo effects, start by making these small changes to your daily life.

Take care of your breakfast
Breakfast is probably the most important meal of the day, and yet, a lot of people out there skip it or replace it with just a cup of coffee. When your stomach is empty, your body’s metabolism will slow down and drag down your weight losing efforts. Start the day right by getting your body fueled with a healthy breakfast. Why don’t you try having some scrambled egg whites with low-fat cheese, a whole grain toast, and a piece of fruit? This will surely keep your stomach satisfied until mid-day while keeping your metabolism busy. Also, it will keep you away from snacking on junk food during the morning time.

Eat the right way
In addition to a healthy breakfast, eat small meals frequently during the day to keep your metabolism active. You can have lunch, a small afternoon meal, and dinner with a small snack in between meals. Your best meal choices are lean proteins, whole grains, and vegetables. As for the snacks, try to go for a low fat yogurt, a cup of skimmed milk with a teaspoon of cocoa powder, a piece of fruit, or some fresh veggies with low fat cream cheese. Also, forget about the excuse of “treating yourself” everyday. It is okay to indulge yourself once a week on a small treat, but don’t make a habit out of this. Oh, and don’t forget about drinking the right way. Leave those sodas and other sugary drinks aside and drink a cup of iced water instead to save yourself some empty calories.

Get it moving
You don’t have enough time to go to the gym? Well, try moving around as much as you can. Anything that you do counts! Try waking up twenty minutes earlier than usual and go for a brisk walk or a run. This will activate your body’s metabolism right away, and you will feel good throughout the entire day. Also, leave the car keys aside and make a habit of walking. Is your office at a walking distance? What about your local supermarket? Even when you are at the office, stand up and go take short walks every once in a while. When you watch your favorite TV show at night, try doing some push ups and abs.

Every little thing that you do counts! So, forget about the fad diets and instead make these small changes to your everyday life to start shedding pounds right away.
