Let your body rest a bit during the first four to six weeks after giving birth. During that time, make sure that you take care of your diet by eating lots of fresh vegetables, whole grains, and lean meats. If you get hungry in between meals, snack on fruits, nuts, and low fat products such as skimmed milk and yogurts. This will help to accelerate the weight loss process. Afterwards, if you are motivated enough, you can try to join post-pregnancy exercise classes at your local gym.
